CliniShift wins upSTART 2018 competition at Digital DNA

CliniShift has lifted the top prize in this year’s upSTART 2018 competition at Digital DNA 2018.

The European-wide startup pitch competition – hosted by leading startup publication and platform Startacus – sees the company win £5,000 in cash along with a host of other prizes.

CliniShift is a bespoke software solution that works as a communication platform connecting clinical staff with hospital managers who manage rosters.

The Dublin-based firm will also receive one year’s mentoring care from award-winning full-service agency Flint Studios; a 1-2-1 meeting with Eamon Carey, Managing Director of Techstars London; a year’s co-working space; and two days of legal advice from one of upSTART’s major sponsors, leading corporate law firm Tughans – providing crucial feedback, support and networking opportunities.

CliniShift beat off completion from 24 other disruptive startups at Digital DNA.

CliniShift beat off completion from 24 other disruptive startups, including runner-up AiPatient, which seeks to improve the quality, accessibility, and affordability of medical training worldwide, through artificial intelligence.

Aimée Madden, the founder and CEO of CliniShift, said: “I feel very proud and humble to have won amongst such stiff competition. I’d like to thank everyone sincerely for giving CliniShift this opportunity and I hope we really make a difference with our technology for health providers and hospitals.”

Jeremy Biggerstaff, Managing Director of Flint Studios, which specialises in providing innovative web solutions to more than 200 high-calibre clients across the UK and Ireland, and one of the judging panel, said:

“It’s really rewarding to be involved with initiatives such as upSTART at Digital DNA that shine a light on the fantastic work these successful startups are doing.

“Flint Studios is still a relatively young business now in our sixth year and it isn’t too long ago that we were considered a startup company ourselves, so we know the challenges and just how invaluable support and advice from more mature companies can be.

“As the 2017 Digital DNA Digital Company of the Year, we were determined to give-back to the industry and help nurture the startup community not only by sitting on the judging panel but by providing specialist mentoring to the winner.

“I was hugely impressed by all 25 participating companies all of which are bursting with strategic intelligence and innovation. Congratulations to CliniShift, a deserved winner, and we are very much looking forward to working with Aimée and the team to provide support as they look to the next chapter.”

Simon Bailie, Commercial Director of Digital DNA, said:

“Once again, upSTART has uncovered some of the greatest entrepreneurial talent from across Europe. The pitches were fantastic, but we’ve managed to find a very worthy winner and I’d like to congratulate CliniShift for taking the top prize.

“With the range of prizes, it is getting the best support to take it to the next level and we look forward to hearing about its continued success in the next few years.”
